On September 14 Novasian Chorus joined Chinese Musicians of North America at Capital One Hall for Autumn’s Charm: A Musical Encounter of East and West.
East met West in a kaleidoscope of sound — violin and erhu sang together, pipa and guzheng traced moonlit waters, and a handpan’s shimmering tones opened dreamlike worlds. Broadway favorites Think of Me and Somewhere Out There bridged continents with familiar warmth, before all voices united in May We All Be Together, drawing waves of applause.
Novasian Chorus offered two moonlit gems: the jazz classic Fly Me to the Moon, a daring new path for the ensemble, and conductor Chenlin Zhang’s sensitive choral reimagining of Moonlight in the City, rich with layered harmonies.
The evening was more than a concert — it was a celebration of cultural resonance, where music became light connecting distant horizons.
